Southfleet Village Hall

Did you know……………….

The village hall grounds are used by

Sedley school for their playing field and by Tiny Tigers nursery

……………and the children’s health is being put at significant risk by irresponsible dog owners who won’t clear up after their dog.

The dog poo harbour parasites that can be easily transferred to humans, especially small children who readily pick things up. This can cause toxocariasis, which can be a severe illness which can also cause blindness. It can be transmitted to unborn babies too.
Other diseases that can be caused by contact with dog poo are a variety of very unpleasant stomach upsets (Diarrhoea & Vomiting). Also, other dogs may also catch Parvovirus which is usually fatal.

There is also a problem along the allotment pathway, where the children have a plot, and many others grow food produce.

The law is clear - "It is the responsibility of the dog owner or the person in charge of the dog to clear up any dog foul left by their dog."

Thank you from Sedley School, Tiny Tigers and the Village Hall

Charity Night Feb 2017

The pictures are from our latest fund raising "Viking Pillage Gig" which is one of our annual events held at the village hall in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Our like minded crowd willingly part with their hard earned to purchase a ticket which covers the cost of the Hall and the live band with all the proceeds going to Macmillan , they then dress "appropriately" for whatever hair brained theme we come up with , bringing along their own drink and nibbles and leaving their inhibitions at home!!

Always a great night and thanks to the support of our resident bands Run for Cover / GlamStar and the Village hall Committee who give us a Charity Rate we have over the past seven years managed to raise over £9,308.18 for Macmillan.

Our next gig....."Dead Celebs" is planned for Long Valley Hall Longfield on the 23rd of September if you fancy coming along tickets are £10 each and available from Gaveyoung@gmail.com or watch this space for our 2018 Southfleet Gig (TBA).
