Village defibrillator UPDATE

Posted on Mar 6, 2018 by Tony Kelly

Dear Residents

The parish defibrillator is located in the centre of the village by Sedley’s School. Below are some basic instructions of what to do if someone stops breathing. If any resident would like to be trained on CPR, there is a session arranged for Tuesday 13th of March at 7pm a the Village Hall. Please contact the Clerk for more information and to book a place.

The instruction for use is as follows:

Step 1 – check if the person (casualty) is breathing

Step 2 – call out for someone to help you and get them to call 999 – they should say if  the person is breathing or not. Meanwhile you start CPR

Step 3  – if there is no-one to help, call 999 yourself – using the microphone on your phone (ie hands free) as the operator can talk you through what to do to start CPR

Step 4 – the 999 operator will tell you the location of the nearest defibrillator at Sedley’s School and the access code.
